A Message from the Commodore
The Club's AGM has now taken place and Howard Bissell
has past on the baton to a new Commodore. It is unfortunate
that personal circumstances have forced this on him, but
he will continue on as a Committee Member and we wish
him well in this.
The Committee
after the election at the AGM still has vacancies and
has no representation from the active canoeist or from
the motor boat members which is unsatisfactory. If there
are two members who are willing to represent the interests
of these sections, liaise with members with like boating
interests and help with organising the occasional event
etc please let me know.

The Club Rules allows
the Committee to co-opt members to fill existing vacancies until
the next AGM. The Committee meets on the first Wednesday evening
each month.

Boson's Locker
Good news, new canoe racks have arrived and they are in the
process of being erected now the puzzle of the parts has been
worked out. Many thanks go to Peter Blackall. The racks will
give more room and security for the kayaks and canoes and will
be a welcome addition. The old racks have been over crowded
and unsatisfactory for some time. This section of the Club has
grown rapidly and deserves better facilities.
The weather recently has been far from kind with the strong
winds and heavy rain. The river has not yet flooded, but it
may rise quickly. It is important that boats can be moved. so
please check your boat. Check the cover and make sure it is
empty of rain water so the trolley doesn't push through the
bottom of the boat. Check that the wheels of your launching
trolley and road trailer are okay. It is surprising how many
road trailers etc have flat tyres, and in some cases, the tyres
are almost coming off. It is a condition of berthing at the
Club that your boat can be easily moved. If the river floods
this winter it may be necessary to move boats at short notice,
even those away from the river, to accommodate other boats.
Be warned, the Boson's back may be broad, but he isn't an Olympic
weight lifter and he can get grumpy. He may well leave your
boat to the mercy of the river torrents allowing you the pleasure
of collecting it from Teddington Weir.

Radio Controlled Boats
If you have an interest in radio controlled boats Peter Blackall
would like to hear from you. He is keen to form a new section
of the Club. This looks as if it could be a lot of fun, age
is no bar, just bags of enthusiasm. Ask Santa this Christmas
for the ideal present.
